All members of the General Assembly have e-mail. Most (but not
all) addresses follow the pattern of ,
as in jimb@ncleg.net for Speaker Jim Black. To be sure of your
legislators' e-mail addresses, see General Assembly Information,
below.
When
using e-mail, remember to put what you want in the subject line
(e.g. "Support Health Choice").
Also
be sure to give your street address in the body of your e-mail
so that the legislator can see that you are a constituent.

1. Don't Copy
Our Information Word for Word
Use
our talking points for data but write the message in your own
words. It's better to reference our talking points and position
than to copy our information verbatim.
2.
Personalize your message.
Add
your personal story or experience or the experience of someone
you know.
3.
SUBJECT LINE:
Be sure to include a short summary of your point in the subject
line of any email you send, such as “Pass HB 1429, Raise Revenue”.
4. INCLUDE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS:
It is important that you include your name and
address in your email, so legislators know you are NC residents.
